Wiilcom to Donate Phone System to Local Homeless Shelter
A local Waukegan, Illinois Business Technology Services firm donates a phone system for Lake County's Homeless Shelter.
WAUKEGAN, IL, October 15, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jonathan Kness and employee of Wiilcom Business Technologies, Inc., partnered with Wiilcom, the Waukegan Public Library and the Waukegan Rotary Club to provide thirty-two Norstar business class telephones to PADS Lake County, a homeless shelter network that is the only unrestricted homeless shelter system in Lake County, Illinois.
Additionally, Mr. Kness and Wiilcom saved PADS Lake County more than $1,500 in service and installation fees as part of their contribution. PADS serves those experiencing temporary or recurrent homelessness throughout Lake County regardless of the reason by providing emergency and transitional shelter. It is the only shelter in Lake County that will not turn clients away; and therefore, often the only hope for someone facing a long night in the cold.
They partner with houses of worship in locations throughout the county, so that distance will not prevent someone from having a warm, safe environment to sleep. Their Family Center, Safe Haven and Veterans House provide year-round, transitional housing for those facing recurrent homelessness, and have the only street outreach program in Lake County
that actively seeks those in need of shelter and assistance. Their partnerships with Lake County government, businesses, and social service agencies enable them to provide services and draw upon resources that get their clients back to self-sufficiency.
