Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza's 'Shop For Your School' Returns For 2008-09 School Year
$5,000 in Prize Money Up For Grabs for Local Elementary Schools


    /Illinois News Articles/ - LOS ANGELES, CA, August 10, 2008 - The 3rd Annual BHCP Kids 'Shop To Help Your School' program is underway at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza ("BHCP"), located at 3650 West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.

Throughout the 2008-09 school year students and family members from nine local elementary schools will be able to turn in receipts from their shopping trips to Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza vying for the highest number of points to win the first place prize of $2,500 cash from Capri Capital Partners LLC in Chicago, Illinois, which owns the mall on behalf of an institutional investor. $1,500 will be awarded to the school with the second highest number of points and $1,000 to the school that finishes in third place.

"The staff and management at the mall is always working to find innovative ways to support our local schools, because the education of our youth is high on our list of priorities," said Quintin E. Primo III, Chairman and CEO of Capri Capital Partners, LLC. "The prize money over the last couple years has gone towards after-school programs, computers, books, supplies, musical instruments and other items that improve the quality of education in our schools. We believe the 'Shop To Help Your School' program is also the perfect way to build school spirit!"

Since its inception during the 2006-07 school year, the BHCP Kids Shop To Help Your School program
has awarded over $10,000 to local schools.

The following elementary schools are enrolled in the 2008-09 Shop to Help Your School program at Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza: Transfiguration, Tom Bradley, Coliseum Street, St. Bernadette's, Hillcrest Drive, Angeles Mesa, 54th Street, 42nd Street and Sixth Avenue. Receipts for the contests can be turned-in to the mall's Customer Service Booth through May 31, 2009.

The Shop To Help Your School program is part of BHCP Kids, the mall's education and healthcare
initiative.

Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza, located at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. and Crenshaw Boulevards is home of Macy's, Wal-Mart, Sears, Magic Johnson Theaters, Creole Chef, and over 115 stores and restaurants.
